Nothing is more important than being safe when out on the water. With courses suitable for everyone from novice to aspirant instructors, now is the time to make sure you know how to look after yourself and others.

All our courses are taught by qualified British Canoeing coaches and result in an e-certificate upon successful completion of the course.

New from British Canoeing, designed specifically for paddleboarders, this course is for anyone interested in developing a better understanding of how to stay safe on the water. It doesn’t matter if you are new to SUP or have been paddling for some time, you will find this useful.

This practical course explores how to choose appropriate equipment, develop an understanding of the environmental factors which can affect your paddling, how to plan a trip, how to support each other and explores possible solutions to common mishaps, as well as practicing a range of rescue techniques.
5h course with around 2.5h on the water. Bringing your own equipment if you have it is highly recommended. Please clean, check and dry your equipment before bringing it along. You will get very wet on this course. British Canoeing Description.
Paddlesport Safety and Rescue - 6h - 20th April

Explore level paddling ability in chosen craft (Canoe, Kayak or SUP)

A prerequisite for the Paddlesport Instructor award, PSR teaches you the necessary safety and rescue skills for dealing with incidents in a sheltered water environment.

You will learn to rescue a variety of boats from your chosen craft.
