Cambridge Junior Cycling Club

A club for all girls and boys who want to improve their cycling ability, whether for leisure and everyday riding or they want to progress to cycle racing.

Milton Country Park has a dedicated off-road cycle course, and club coaches are experienced and British Cycling trained.  These sessions offer a great opportunity to practice different cycling disciplines and skills and even take part in off-road races.

Mountain bike coaching is available in the park for 5 - 16 year olds on alternate Saturdays.

  • Saturday 1-2pm for 5 - 10 year olds

  • Saturday 2-3pm for 11 - 16 year olds

Road cycling sessions are held at Cottenham Village College car park on alternate Mondays of each month from 6.30-7.30pm.
The cost is just £5 per session for one hour of coaching.

How to join

All attendees must complete a parental consent form.  This will be available and can be done at the start of the 1st session, if not already done.  The form is also available below for completion in advance if helpful.  Please allow 10 mins before the start of any session for admin / set up time.

For new attendees there is also a process to become a registered member of the Club with British Cycling. This will be expected to be done around the point that 3 'taster' sessions have been completed & commitment levels established.  This club membership currently costs £9.00 per season up to 31 December.  Fees will be updated and renewed from 1 January 2018.

Bikes are limited so please bring a bike or borrow a bike if possible.

Who are we?

Created with support from Living Sport as a community interest company Cambridge Junior Cycling Club is now being managed by Cambridge Sport Lakes Trust.  We work closely with the City Council, Cambridgeshire County Council and local Cycling Clubs – particularly Team Cambridge, Cambridge Cycling Club and Cambridge Triathlon Club – as well as other partners to help to extend the opportunities for young people to participate in the sport of cycling.  It is expected that in time riders from the Cambridge Junior Cycling Club will graduate to local clubs.
