Instructor Courses

For those looking to pass on skills to the next wave of paddlesport enthusiasts. Milton Country Park is lucky to host several Paddle UK and BSUPA accredited courses for those looking to become instructors or take the next steps into coaching.

Courses usually take place in late winter and spring so please check back over the winter season for more courses.

Paddlesport Instructor - 2 days - 11/12th May

  • Explore level paddling ability in chosen craft (Canoe, Kayak or SUP)

  • PST (or FSRT) taken at least 2 weeks prior to PI course

  • Full membership of British Canoeing

  • Registered with British Canoeing as PI candidate

  • Age 14+

Paddlesport Instructor is the first step on the ladder for anyone who would like to introduce beginners to paddling in a very sheltered water environment. Learn how to take a group through their first session including teaching basic skills and keeping the group safe.

Our experienced tutor will help you develop a personal action plan, develop your own skills and start you on your coaching journey.

2 day course. Qualification is craft specific but all craft can attend the same course. Qualifies successful candidates to instruct all 3 craft from their craft of choice when deployed by a L2 or higher instructor. British Canoeing Description.

BSUPA L1 Instructor - 2 Days

  • Ability to paddle competently on a range of boards

  • Current member of BSUPA

  • Valid First Aid qualification

  • Age 14+

Learn to delivery the Ready2Ride course from BSUPA

Shadow teaching will be required before certificates are issued. Students without any previous water sports teaching experience or qualifications will be required to ghost qualified BSUPA instructors before certificates are issued. Only valid when teaching in a BSUPA Registered School
