A short way to the east of the visitor centre you'll find the children's play area. It's very popular on a summer's day and even in the middle of winter you'll find children on the equipment.

The fenced off area is no-smoking and no dogs are allowed (there are rings to tie your dog to on the fence near the gate).

In Spring 2009 a new 'Natural' play area was opened at the Park opposite the existing play equipment. The centre-piece of this is a new climbing frame, which is surrounds by several smaller pieces of equipment. This area is intended to 'flow' into the park landscape, and is not enclosed.
