Our Summer Programme kicks off with a bang this Sunday as popular free family event Parklife returns to Milton Country Park!
Organised by South Cambridgeshire District Council in partnership with Cambridge Sport Lakes Trust, Parklife is all about celebrating getting outdoors and active, offering a wide range of sports and activities to try including...
Cycling: Cambridge Sport Lakes Trust was fortunate to have received a grant from the John Stewart Memorial Fund, enabling us to provide an exciting cycling zone with balance bikes, mountain bike track, rollerpalooza, all-ability bikes, Scalextric and smoothie making bikes!
Water: There is plenty to do both on and off the water including; paddleboarding, canoeing and kayaking taster sessions, fishing, and hovercraft rides provided by search and rescue charity Hoveraid.
Wild Zone: Enjoy the wild flower area, try some Forest School craft, take a nature safari, build nest boxes and bug houses, try pond dipping in Hall's Pool or go den-building in the Wild Place! If you are a budding young photographer there is also still time to enter the Parklife Photography Competition.
Entertainment Zone: taking inspiration from Brazil in this Olympic year there will be a vibrant mix of music making, dance and martial arts, live music and a real carnival atmosphere!
Extreme Zone: featuring archery, climbing walls, spider mountain, zorbs, self-defence challenges and a hotly contested tug of war.
Amongst these and other activities there will also be a small community market with a multitude of charity, craft, and information stalls for visitors to browse, and delicious food and refreshments provided by Milton Country Park's local, independent café, Grounds.
Sunday 17th July 10am-6pm. Entry free, car parking £4 all day.
